Join the Flute Center of New York for a day full of Miyazawa flutes! Miyazawa will be bringing their full arsenal of professional flutes and altos! We’ll be at the Kaufman Center on 68th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam, in the lobby of Merkin Concert Hall.
Dominique Kim and I, both Miyazawa Artists, will be presenting a mini-recital at 5pm. Admission is FREE, so please come out and tell your friends! A great concert, and many great flutes to try – what could be better?
I‘m very pleased to announce that I won First Place in the 2014 New York Flute Club Competition. The field of 39 competitors included many of New York’s finest students, graduates, and young professionals from Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, and Mannes, etc. I performed Dutilleux’s Sonatine and Andre Jolivet’s Chant de Linos.
The win comes with a cash honorarium and a performance at the New York Flute Club Competition’s Winner’s Recital. The Winner’s Recital will be held at the Engelman Recital Hall, Baruch Performing Arts Center, 55 Lexington Avenue (entrance on 25th Street), New York City, on Sunday, April 27, 2014. I’ll will have a 30-40 minute performance. If you didn’t catch the Final Round, I hope you can make it to the Winner’s Concert – I’d love to see you there! Admission: Free to New York Flute Club members, $25 for non-members, $15 for students and seniors (65+) at the door.
